Cultural Patterns - Reggae music is a big part of their culture. Bob Marley is the most famous Reggae singer. Cricket and soccer are the main sports played in Jamaica. They believe that each family should share a close bond. People in villages like to help each other out. Whether it be helping a child or cooking food together they enjoy helping others.

Family
- Jamaican families share a very close bond. Parents are not the only ones raising the children, aunts, uncles and grandparents all help out. The families stay close even when the kids have grown up and have families of their own. They believe you are never to old for schooling from your family.

Religion- Thee biggest religion in Jamaica is Christen Faith. There are many other churches like Anglican church and the Church of God are throughout the country. There are only a small number of Jewish people.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES-The sports the Jamaicans like to play are cricket, soccer, dominoes

Languages
- The official language of Jamaica is English. Variations of English are spoken in different areas they combine Spanish, English, and different African languages.

CULTURE- Dancing is important to Jamaicans. They have more than 30 distinctive dances! Some of the the local dances are called "Jonkonnu" a dance practiced around Christmas time and "Bruckins" is from the period emancipation, and the newer "Ska." Those are just some of the Jamaican dances.

ART-Jamaica has taken pride in their artistic style. They pick different ideas form other countrys art work like European, American, and African art. Their two major types of art work are painting and sculpting.

Food- The people of Jamaica eat foods that are flavored with spices such as ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. Allspice is the dried berries of the pimento plant which is native to Jamaica. A toasted bread like wafer called "bammy" is eaten with most meals. There is plenty of seafood in Jamaica. It includes lobster, shrimp, and fish such as red snapper, tuna, mackerel, and jackfish.

MUSIC- The most popular form of music in Jamaica is reggae, which has a very calming feel to it. It has a sound so easy to listen to and enjoy! It has gained popularity throughout the world in the last few years. Most reggae musicians have grown to international fame and the most common one is Bob Marley

DATING & MARRIAGE - Jamaican marriages are similar to the U.S. The Bride and Groom are usually the ones planning the wedding and all its arrangements. The villagers line the streets to see if the bride looks her best. If she does not they will publicly criticize her.
